The fact that we exist within an artificial society does not change our natural biology, or the biological make-up of our psychology.? As relationship dynamics in the western world, and its colonial protectorates continue to break down, I believe it is worthy endeavor to review the traditional marriage patterns, sexual dynamics and gender roles within natural societies.? Though these topics are deep and wide, I will here simply share some brief thoughts on some of the various changes which has caused the state of our relationships to devolve into the mess that we find now; in the future, I will try to tackle these issues in a more round-about and in-depth manner.
Firstly, the basis of sexuality has been undermined by the creation of restrictive and harmful social norms which have been established in order to support the artificial society.? For instance, modern use of the term ?pedophile? is ridiculous.? The word means ?a person who is sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children?, not someone who has sex with girls under the age of 18 (or whatever arbitrary number is attached to the ?statute of limitations? in whichever country).
I would imagine that most men are aware that girls become physically appealing as soon as their bodies begin to develop sexually, whether this happens at the age of 13 or 17.? Once a girl?s body begins to show signs of fertility ? that is, the growth of breasts, increased width of the hips and increased fat stored in the buttocks, she naturally becomes sexually appealing to a man.? This is not mental illness, it is a natural drive.
Pedophilia ? the attraction to girls who are not yet sexually mature ? is a mental illness, as the purpose of sexual attraction, in the natural world, is at its core reproduction and a propagation of the species.? As such, engaging in or desiring to engage in any type of sex that does not fall within those parameters should be classified as a mental illness.
I am of course not saying that I think it is ?okay? for older men to pursue young teenage girls.? This type of situation can very often be exploitative, for the obvious reason that the older man is more emotionally developed and capable of detaching himself in a way that the girl is not.? However, there are many types of exploitation that do not follow this model; it is simply more common for a inter-generational relationship to be exploitative.? In a natural situation, where people cared for one another as members of a family care for one another, the concept of exploitation would have been entirely foreign, as the entire society was geared toward what was best for the collective.? In such a case, a younger girl marrying an older man would be something determined by the group to be in everyone?s best interests, and there would be nothing fundamentally wrong about such a situation.
In the tribe, people would get married when they first became sexually mature, just as in nature, animals will become sexually active once their bodies are capable of reproduction.? This was generally a 13 or 14 year old girl marrying a 15 or 16 year old boy.? The reasons this practice stopped were wholly due to economic factors, mainly the concept of extended education and a prolonged childhood.? This has created massive problems in society, with young girls very often having fatherless children, or being forced into abortion.? At present, the western world is claiming that it is necessary for people to wait until they are in their late twenties to get married, meaning that there is no possible way a person can not engage in sex before marriage, and this has created massive problems, on all fronts.
To be clear, I am not talking about the Christian concept of ?marriage for life? here, which can be problematic in many situations.? In the tribe, children?s marriages would be mainly arranged by the parents, not in a way that was oppressive or dictatorial, but in a way in which the parents had the best for their children in mind.? The fact that a child is sexually mature, and going to become horny, does not mean that they are mature enough to determine a suitable partner for themselves.
Generally, these arranged marriages worked out very well, with the youths having a lasting relationship, developing together and bonding in a deep and meaningful way.? However, if it didn?t work out, there was no problem with divorce, and rearranging things to make it so partners were more suitable for each other.? In this situation, both parents would still have responsibility for any children which were produced within the failed marriage, and so the relationships between the family members were still left in tact.
The Christian concept of marriage for life is what people are generally opposed to when they speak of ?not believing? in marriage.? This concept was developed to support the economic system, which must necessarily be patriarchal in the extreme, with men viewing their wives as property.?? The lineage must be secured in order to allow the property of the male to pass through a direct line.? When there is no property ownership, there is no need for this type of rigidity.? These types of marriages must have the man as superior to the woman, and ?in charge? of her, as without that, you are going to have women disagreeing with the man and cause the system to stop functioning.
I must also say that I do believe in traditional gender roles, and the concept that generally a young man is more fit to make serious critical decisions than a young woman is, due to the hormonal structure of the brain.? This is simply the way human biology works, and has nothing to do with any kind of subjective perception ? women are designed to bear and care for children, and so filled with estrogen to make them store fats and be emotionally oriented, while men are more predominantly driven by testosterone, which causes them to be more muscular, aggressive and logically oriented. However, regardless of this larger tendency to function more on emotion than males, the woman should be capable of determining their own lives, and not locked into relationships which they do not find to be healthy.
It is also worthy of note that after a woman passes through menopause, the structure of her brain changes due to the change in the hormonal balance, and the woman begins to be more geared toward critical logic, rather than emotionally driven thinking.?? Women who pass through menopause and are capable of looking back on their earlier years have no problem seeing the difference in their own thought processes.
Given that tribes were generally ruled by the elders, the old women would have equal say in the way that matters of the tribe should be dealt with, and were often considered even more capable than men of making critical decisions, given that they were able to view the situation from two different perspectives.? This is, of course, why we have the archetypal image of the wise old woman as the peak of human understanding.
Again, all of the issues touched on here require further elaboration, and shall be expanded on in the future.
