Big 3rd period boosts Nation Ford over Clover in boys basketball

Cody Bauer led Clover with 15 points. Taylor Hoover joined him in double figures with 10.

Nation Ford 39, Clover 37 (OT)

Katie Bright scored 26 points and led the Nation Ford Lady Falcons to a 39-37 overtime win over the Clover Lady Blue Eagles.

Bright, who led all scorers in the game, had five field goals from 3-point range.

Nation Ford jumped out to a 15-8 lead after one period. They continued their hot shooting and increased the margin to 26-12 by halftime.

Clover regrouped and mounted a second half comeback. They cut the deficit to 31-28 after three period. They managed to tie the game, but lost in overtime.

Bria Huffman led Clover in scoring with 12 points.

Fort Mill 68, Charlotte Country Day 62 (OT): The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets outscored Country Day of Charlotte 8-2 in overtime to claim a 68-62 victory Wednesday night in Fort Mill.

The Yellow Jackets used a fourth quarter comeback to pickup their eighth win of the year against four losses.

Fort Mill trailed 49-40 at the end of the third period. It outscored Country Day 20-11 in the final period to forge a tie and send the contest to overtime. The momentum created in that quarter carried over into the extra period, and the Yellow Jackets pulled out the win.

Jon Brown led the offensive attack for coach Dwayne Hartsoe's Yellow Jackets with 28 points. He had four field goals from 3-point range. Riley McGillan added 13 points for Fort Mill.
